Elena Fillipieva

Principal Dancer for the National Ballet of Ukraine, Kiev

Ms. Filipieva graduated from the prestigious Kiev State Ballet Academy.  Since 1988 she has performed as a soloist with the National Ballet and is now known by many as the best ballerina in Ukraine. Filipieva's artistry, deep understanding of musical and dramatic material, virtuosic ballet technique, and insight into the lyrical nature of classical dance allowed the ballerin to master some of ballet's most complex roles such as  Odette-Odie, Aurora, and Clara in Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, and The Nutcracker; Aegina in Khachuturian's Spartacus; and title roles in Adan's Giselle, Minkus' Paquita, Glazunov's Raymonda and Prokofiev's Cinderella among others.  Filipieva has been a gold medalist at the Moscow International Ballet Competition in 1989, the International Ballet Competition in St. Petersburg in 1994, and Tokyo International Ballet Competition in 1998.  She has toured all over the world as part of the National Ballet of Ukraine and as a guest artist with ballet troupes in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Sergiy Sidorsky

Principal Dancer for National Ballet of Ukraine, Kiev

Sergei Sidorsky was invited to join the National Ballet of Ukraine in 1999 upon his graduation from the prestigious Kiev State Ballet Academy.  Sidorsky's honors include finalist and prize winner at the Serge Lifar International Ballet Competition in Kiev, 2002; a special Marius Petipa Prize for academic purity in classical dance; and best performance of choreography to Tchaikovsky's music at the "Arabesque" Russian Ballet Competition in Perm, 2004.  Sidorsky's repetoire includes leading roles in classical and contemporary ballet productions, such as Prince Zigfried in Swan Lake and the Prince in The Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky; Jean de Brienne in Gazunov's Raymonda; Conrad in Adan's Le Corsaire, and Romeo in Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet.  He has toured in France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Austraila, Janpan and Mexico.

Adiaris Almeida

Adiaris Alimeida,

Former Cincinnati Ballet Principal Dancer and presently a Principal Dancer with Corella Ballet.

Born and raised in Matanzas,Cuba. Ms.Almeida began dancing at age 6 and her professional training include the Vocational Art School “Alfonso Perez Isaac” in Matanzas,Cuba and the National Ballet School in Havana,Cuba. After graduating in 2001 as a Professional Ballet Dancer and Teacher, she joined the National Ballet of Cuba for two years 2001-2003, under the direccion of Alicia Alonso. She participated in the International Ballet Competition of Havana,Cuba,were she received the Silver Medal in 1997 and 1998 and the Gold Medal in 1999 and 2000. In 1999 Ms.Almeida participated in the International Dance Competition in Nagoya,Japan and the Gala of the Ballet Muses in Tokyo as partner of Rolando Sarabia. She was also the first Cuban female dancer to be a finalist at the USA International Ballet Competition in 2006.

Some of her Principal Roles include Giselle in “Giselle”,Juliet in Victoria Morgan’s “Romeo and Juliet”,Kitri in “Don Quixote”,Medora in “Le Corsaire”,Aurora in Kirk Peterson’s “Sleeping Beauty”,Odette-Odile in “Swan Lake”,Clara,Snow Queen and the Sugar Plum Fairy in Val Caniparoli’s “The Nutcracker”,Carmen in Kirk Peterson’s “Carmen”,lisa in Jose Pares “La Fille Mal Gardee”,Gamzatti in Natalia Makarova’s “La Bayadere”,Cinderella in “Cinderella”and others. Also she has performed many ballets from important choreographers like: Balanchine’s “Tchaikovsky pas de deux”,Liberty Bill in “Stars and Stripes”, “El Ballo de la Regina”,Who Cares?, Arthur Saint-Leon “La Vivandiere”,the pink pas de deux in Clark Tippet’s “Bruch Violin Concerto”, “Coppelia” ,”Satanella”, Diana and Acteon” pas de deux and many other works by Stanton Welch,Twyla Tharp,Lynn Taylor Corbett, Jamal Story,Angel Corella,Val Caniparoli,Jerome Robbins,Victoria Morgan,Ivan Tenorio,Alberto Mendez,Viktor Kabaniaev,George Birkadze,Christopher Wheeldon and others...

Ms. Almeida has been invited to perform as a Principal Guest Artist with Ballet Concerto de Puerto Rico,The Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami,The Miami International Ballet Festival,The Baltic Ballet Festival, The NBA Ballet in Japan,The Mississippi Metropolitan Ballet,The Stars of the 21st Century Ballet Gala in Bucarest,Ballet Rosario Suarez and many other Galas and important stages around the world.

Joseph Gatti

Joseph Gatti

Former Cincinnati Ballet Principal Dancer and Presently a Principal Dancer with Corella Ballet.

Born in Warwick,New York and raised in Orlando,Florida.Mr.Gatti began dancing at age 10 at the Orlando Ballet School in Florida and continued his training with Vadim Fedotov and Irina Depler. Joseph danced with Orlando Ballet as an apprentice 2001-2003 under the direction of Fernando Bujones. In 2003 he was coached by Orlando Molina for the Youth American Grand Prix Ballet Competition in New York were he was awarded the Gold Medal and a Scholarship to the Royal Ballet School in London.Upon graduating with honors he received the 2004 Dame Ruth Railton Award for Excellence in Dance. After attending the 2003 American Ballet Theater Summer Intensive he joined the American Ballet Theater Studio Company for the 2004-2005 season. In 2005 he became the first American Male Dancer to win the prestigious Gold Medal at the New York International Ballet Competition. Joseph was nominated as best male dancer for the 2006 Benois de la Danse in Moscow,Russia. In 2006 he became a Bronze Medalist at the USA International Ballet Competition and a Silver Medalist at the Seoul International Ballet Competition in Korea. He was also chosen to be featured in a video entitled “The Male Ballet Dancer” presented by master teacher Finis Jhung. In 2007 Joseph was coached by Magaly Suarez for the first World Ballet Competition in Orlando,Florida,were he received the Gold Medal.

Some of his Principal roles include the Prince in Val Caniparoli’s“The Nutcracker”,Kirk Peterson’s “Sleeping Beauty” and Peter Stark’s “Cinderella”. Albrecth and peasant pas de deux in “Giselle”,Romeo in Victoria Morgan’s “Romeo and Juliet”,Solor,Bronze Idol and lead Fakir in Natalia Makarova’s “La Bayadere”,Siegfried and Benno in “Swan Lake”,Colas in Jose Pares “La Fille Mal Gardee” and many other pas de deux from the classical repertoire like, “Don Quixote”,”Satanella”,”Le Corsaire”,”Black Swan”.etc...he have also dance Balanchine ballets like “Tchaikovsky pas de deux”,”Tarantella”and El Capital in “Stars and Stripes”, Anton Dolin’s “Variation for Four”,Arthur Saint-Leon “La Vivandiere” and other ballets by important choreographers like: Stephen Mill,Twayla Tharp,Jamal Story, Jerome Robbins, Jorma Elo,Stanton  Welch,Val Caniparoli, Angel Corella, Clark Tippet and others.

Joseph have been invited to perform as a Principal Guest Artist with Ballet Concerto de Puerto Rico,Western Ballet,Ballet Municipal de Lima,Peru,The Miami international Ballet Festival,the Baltic Ballet Festival,The Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami,Balletto di l’Arena di Verona,NBA

Sergiy Mikalov

Sergiy Mikhaylov
Principal Dancer for the National Ballet of the Ukraine

Mr. Mikhaylov graduated from the professional Kiev State Ballet Academy. Upon graduating, he danced with the Kiev National Theater of Opera and ballet of Ukraine where he toured Europe, Austrailia, and South America. In 1996 he was invited to work with the Paris Classical Ballet.  Mr. Mikhaylov has also been a principal dancer for the Southern Ballet Theater (now Orlando Ballet) under the artistic direction of Fernando Bujones, and for the Sarasota Ballet.  He has also been a guest performer with the Cincinnati Orchestra and the Terada Ballet Art School in Kyoto, Japan, as well as performing as a featured artist with Ballet Fedotov, the Orlando City Ballet, the Boca Ballet, the Metropolitan Ballet of Topeka, Kansas and the Russian Ballet of Orlando. His repetoire includes principal roles in Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Giselle, Le Corsaire, Coppelia, Scheherazade, Don Quixote, La Selphide, and numerous contemporary works including The Evening Jester, and Ballet Fedotov's productions of Snow White, Cinderella, Hamlet, and Romeo and Juliet.  Mr. Mikhaylov honors include winning a Gold Medal in the Serge Lifar Ballet Competition in the Ukraine.
